The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has awarded a research study on COVID-19 and cystic fibrosis coordinated by Dr. Antonio Recchiuti and carried out in the Laboratory of Molecular Medicine directed by Prof. Mario Romano.

This new research will determine whether cells from people with CF have an altered inflammatory response to the coronavirus and what is the role of endogenous mechanisms on resolution of inflammation in COVID-19 in cystic fibrosis.
