Governance
CAST is an interdepartmental research and technology center established by G. d’Annunzio University with the support of the following departments:
- Dipartimento di Medicina e Scienze dell’Invecchiamento
- Dipartimento di Scienze Mediche, Orali e Biotecnologiche
- Dipartimento di Neuroscienze, Imaging e Scienze Cliniche
- Dipartimento di Scienze Psicologiche, della Salute e del Territorio
- Dipartimento di Tecnologie Innovative in Medicina & Odontoiatria
- Dipartimento di Farmacia
The Director is appointed by Rectoral Decree, upon the proposal of the University Board of Directors. The Director is chosen from a shortlist of two candidates identified among the members of the Center Steering Committee.
The Director remains in office for three years. The appointment can be renewed after performance evaluation by the Board of Directors. The Director appoints a Deputy Director who is chosen among the members of the Steering Committee of the Center. The Deputy Director's appointment ends when the Director ceases to hold office.
Seven full-time professors compose the Steering Committee of the Center. The Committee is appointed by the University Board of Directors. The Steering Committee is chosen from a shortlist of high-profile scientists indicated by the Directors of the Departments that belong to the Center. Members remain in office for three years.
The Scientific Director is a prominent scientist who works in synergy with the Director and the Steering Committee to coordinate the scientific activities of the Center and helps to maximize the Center's human and technological resources.
