The Center for Cognitive Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology (CONE) aims to develop and disseminate a new and updated methodology for assessment and intervention inspired by a bio-psycho-social model and multi-level analysis, with an integrated approach to individuals with neurocognitive and psychological disorders.
The available services include:
- Neuropsychological assessments, evaluations of emotional difficulties, and analysis of recovery potential.
- Cognitive and neuropsychological rehabilitation/stimulation for recovering deficient skills and promoting and maintaining independence.
- Non-invasive neurostimulation programs, cognitive stimulation, and emotional empowerment.
- Individual counseling and psychological/psychotherapeutic support pathways.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
- Individual and group pathways for well-being and longevity promotion.
- Psychoeducation services and support for caregivers and family members of patients.
- Prevention and screening activities for cognitive decline and psychological difficulties.
The evaluation and intervention protocols will be defined considering the different dimensions of individual psychological well-being and through a detailed and multidimensional analysis of the individual's deficits and functional aspects. This evaluation will allow the formulation of a targeted project that is integrated and anchored to the individual's reality, embracing a person-centered approach focused on their functioning rather than performance.
Who is it for?
The services are aimed at adults and seniors with cognitive impairments or psychological difficulties.
With a focus on personalization and adaptation of services to the individual, the Center's activities are carried out in two specialized clinics tailored to the specific needs of different population segments:
- CONE-A Clinic (adults): designed for users aged between 18 and 65. The primary objective is to identify compromised cognitive and/or psychological dimensions and assess the possibility of implementing specific interventions for the identified issues.
- CONE-I Clinic (aging): designed for users over 65. The need for a specific clinic for aging arises from the typical demands of this demographic group. The clinic will offer specialized services for healthy and pathological cognitive aging (e.g., dementia), using an approach to provide the best conditions to promote maximum autonomy in a deinstitutionalized context.
