The Italian Ministry of Health gives financial support to the “Vascular and Stem Cell Biology” research group for a study on precision medicine as a potential gateway for innovative treatment of Type-2 Diabetes

16 March 2021

Recently The Italian Ministry of Health has awarded a research study within the call “Ricerca Finalizzata, Giovani Ricercatori” on the genetic-dependent cardiovascular response to fenofibrate in Type 2 Diabetes coordinated by Dr. Caterina Pipino. The study will be carried out in the Laboratory of Vascular and Stem Cell Biology directed by Prof. Assunta Pandolfi, and in collaboration with Dr. Mario Luca Morieri (University of Padua). This work,  based on randomized clinical trial and in vitro studies on endothelial cells naturally carrying a specific polymorphism, holds a great potential in accelerating the translation of these findings into clinical practice, aiming at providing an innovative approach for the treatment of patients with Type 2 Diabetes.
